evaluation

A comprehensive assessment will be given on the patient’s first visit to Therapy Trails. This evaluation will take approximately 45-90 minutes. Each therapist will compare the child’s current skills to other children of the same age. A variety of tools will be used including a parent interview, standardized tests, observations, checklists, and work samples. The assessment will be targeted around areas of concern expressed by the parent, teacher, or referral source (ex: pediatrician).

After the evaluation, the therapist will review the results and recommendations with the caregivers. This information will be shared with the pediatricians as well. Results from the evaluation will help guide the follow-up treatment.

After the evaluation is completed, the caregiver will be contacted when the child is ready to be scheduled for therapy appointments. Before a child can be seen for treatment, several things are needed including, an IEP/IFSP (if applicable), the doctor’s signature on the evaluation, and insurance authorization (if applicable).

Once our office has the necessary documents and information, it's time to get scheduled!
