Families Deserve Access to Pediatric Therapy Services!

To Our Therapy Trails Families,

We want to make you aware of a serious issue currently affecting pediatric therapy providers and the families we serve.

Despite rising costs of providing care and the increasing need for pediatric therapy services, CareSource has announced a significant reimbursement reduction of 20% for Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services.

In addition, CareSource is terminating our contract effective July 5, 2026, placing us out-of-network.

These decisions place tremendous strain on pediatric therapy providers and threaten access to medically necessary services for children across Georgia.

What This Means for Families

Pediatric therapy is not optional care. For many children, these services are critical for:

  • Communication and language development

  • Feeding and swallowing safety

  • Fine and gross motor development

  • Emotional regulation and sensory processing

  • Independence at home and school

  • Participation in daily life

When reimbursement rates are cut to unsustainable levels, clinics are forced to make impossible decisions regarding staffing, scheduling, and service availability. Ultimately, children and families are the ones most impacted.

Why We Are Speaking Up

At Therapy Trails, we remain committed to advocating for the children and families we serve. We believe:

  • Children deserve access to consistent, high-quality therapy services.

  • Families should not have to travel long distances or sit on waitlists to receive care.

  • Providers should be able to sustainably deliver medically necessary services to their communities.

We are asking our families and community members to help us advocate for continued access to pediatric therapy services.
